Welcome to the weekly update 👋
This is your one-stop spot for everything happening in our church family. From kids to adults, small groups to special events, here's how you can get connected over the next seven days.

Sunday, August 2nd

This Sunday we’ve got a special treat - our VBS kids will be leading the music portion of our service, sharing the songs and actions they learned during this week of VBS. And since it’s the first Sunday of the month all LifeKids will be joining us in the auditorium for music before being dismissed to LifeKids where they will learn about Jesus on their level.

  • Prayer Team - Meets in the Family Room at 9:30a (anyone can join)
  • 10:00am Worship Gathering - Join us for Sunday service in person or online. On the first Sunday of each month our LifeKids join us for music in the auditorium.
  • Kids Ministry - Age-specific programming during the service

Upcoming Events
  • Staff Meeting: Sunday, August 9th following morning worship
  • Pizza with the Pastor, August 23rd following morning worship (find our more below)
  • Back-To-School Bash, August 30th following the morning worship service. Make plans to hang out with your Real Life family after church for hot-dogs, hamburgers and fun!

Are you New at Real Life? Take the next step.

Join us for Pizza with the Pastor—a relaxed meal where you'll hear the story of Real Life from pastor Corey, have time to ask questions and discover how you can get connected. We'd love to save you a seat.

This Week's Message

"Wired to Worship"

Pastor CoreyGenesis 1:26-31, Romans 1:21-25

Wired to Worship kicks off our iDols: Identifying What Shapes Us series, where we are looking at the things that receive our trust, attention, and allegiance—and how they shape who we become.

This week, we begin with the truth that human beings were created in the image of God to reflect Him within creation. Sin distorted that calling but did not remove it. We still give ourselves to something, and we gradually become like whatever we place at the center of our lives.

The question is not whether we worship. The question is what we are becoming through what we worship.

We had a great group of kids for VBS this past week -

They memorized bible verses, sang songs, learned about the armor of God (just ask them!) and created their own minecraft worlds that will be on display Sunday morning. All week they had minecraft themed foods - but on Thursday everything was minecraft - Cubed ham, turkey and various cheeses and the kids loved it (thank you Dena for planning the meals!). One volunteer said commented how good the kids were and fun it was to have the ages mixed up in each group so they could help each other and learn together. It was a great week and Sunday morning the VBS kids will lead us in music with all the songs they learned!

Prayer Team:

This may be the most important thing that happens on Sunday mornings at Real Life. Our prayer team meets at 9:30 in the Family Room and prays for you, the Sunday service, our volunteers, staff, guests and for transformation as we strive to look more like Jesus ever day.
  • If you have a prayer request please let us know!
  • For more information email Ray

Blanket Ministry Team:

Our blanket ministry provides blankets as a physical display of God’s love when needed most. Blankets are donated to those in the hospital or baby blankets are delivered to Branches Pregnancy Centers and other organizations.
  • If you’d like to help make blankets or want info email Jessica Pyle.
  • If you’d like to stop and pray over the blankets we have they are in the Family Room

Care Team:

Our Care Team meets with individuals following the service who are seeking prayer or wanting to take their next step with Jesus. If you’re good with people and have a heart to pray with and walk with people in that moment when God is stirring in their heart this might be a great ministry opportunity for you.

  • For more information email Terry

Cleaning Team:

This team helps us create a clean and welcoming environment for our guests and regulars who come to the building each week. A clean church shows our thankfulness for what God has provided and removes stumbling blocks to those we welcome to worship every Sunday and throughout the week.

If you’d like to join this group email Corey and we’ll get you the details.

Cleaning Schedule:
August:
  • 02 - Tristen Moore
  • 09 - Erin Burden
  • 16 - Jim and Kathy Crisp
  • 23 - Jehners

🛄 Hungry? We have a FOOD PANTRY:
The Food Pantry is available to anyone at Real Life who may need help with a meal or more between paychecks or when struggling for various reasons. If you’d like to pick up a meal or two (o
r want to know more about this ministry) let pastor Corey know after the service.

This Week's Message From Pit to Promise • Joseph Corey Landreth | Genesis 37, 40-50 From Pit to Promise wraps up our Fathers of the Faith series with a look at Jospeh's odd journey. What looked like betrayal, loss, and injustice becomes the very thing God uses to save many lives. Joseph’s story reveals that God wasn’t just working in moments—He was working through generations. This week brings the entire series together and asks: can you trust God when you can’t yet see what He’s doing?Watch Sunday's Service Here Daily Message Moments email Get daily inspiration delivered right to your inbox weekday mornings at 6am to help you look more like Jesus every day.Sign Up Here Watch last week’s sermon 👇Subscribe To Our Podcast New Message Series Begins August 2nd In Scripture, God’s Names are not merely labels.
